Love your dog? So do we! There are lots of things we love doing for our fuzzy, little canine friends; chatting them up, sharing a good meal, sunbathing in the nude, sharing a snuggle and a butt scratch, pet sitting, dog walking – and other joys too numerous to mention. We also, of course, have difficult jobs that often have to be tackled. Perhaps the toughest job comes for us each year when Summer is starting to wane and Fall begins thinking about setting out Old Man Winter’s clothes. That’s when we attend the Fall Harvest Brewfest.
Last night that duty rolled around – that duty to drink – so as to save a dog’s life. No…not out of a water bowl. We lapped it up in style at the Lincoln Center. We all traipsed over there to imbibe with our pals, Animal House Rescue, at their 7th annual Fall Harvest Brewfest fundraiser!
As always, Animal House did it up right! Tons of brewers and distillers set up shop and settled in for a raucous night of fun and good cheer. The hullabaloo was encouraged and helped along by all the orange-shirted-poochy-supported-awesome-volunteers who were equipped with smiles, great attitudes and (most importantly) maps to more beer.
Speaking of beer, Ann and I had a happy accident due to our having sampled Boulder Beer, Copper Mule, Roundhouse Spirits, Berthod Brewing, Funkwerks, Pateros, Roundhouse, 1933 Brewing (and others) in quick succession, when we bumped into each other. I had just got a lovely sample of peanut butter stout from Equinox and Ann was sporting a mug of newly tapped chocolate oatmeal stout by Verboten, and we ended up with a chocolate-peanut-butter-cup-stout! By the way, we would officially like to request that Equinox and Verboten look into that for next year.
p.s. For all who didn’t attend the Fall Harvest Brewfest and are planning to attend next year, shirts and shoes were required but ended up being bothersome.
