Ann Jones Pet Sitting Biography

Ann Jones

I moved to Fort Collins from Connecticut in the summer of 2007 with my family, two dogs, Bailey (Golden Retriever) and Emma (Cockalier) and cats (Theo and Monster). Animals have always been an important part of my life, beginning with all the stray critters I would bring home as a young child, much to my mother’s dismay!

My career path for the past 25 years has included teaching, coaching and being a Therapeutic Recreation Director, working with people who had disabilities. This afforded me many opportunities to bring my pets along while visiting with clients – brightening up their day. I’ve had my therapy companion in many diverse settings, including group homes, residential treatment centers, senior housing and nursing homes, to name a few. Although I’ve coordinated many pet therapy programs, I especially enjoyed helping to facilitate therapeutic horseback riding programs.

Eventually, after taking a couple of years off to be a full-time mom, my passion for animals and the outdoors pulled me towards a new career path. I was drawn by an advertisement I saw by a very cool and hip pet care company needing a pet sitter and dog walker that also offered dog hiking. After a very short time, I knew this was the place for me!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, hiking, walking my dogs, exercising and reading. Also, as a former competitive athlete, I’m an avid and passionate sports fan.

Ann is a Fort Collins Pet Sitter and Dog Walker and Poochy Doos, LLC is proud to have Ann as a part of our Professional Pet Sitting Team.
